The method for refilling or replacing ink varies by pen type. Ballpoint and gel pens often use replaceable cartridges or refillable ink tubes. Fountain pens require ink cartridges or bottled ink and a converter. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for refilling to ensure proper functionality.

Ballpoint pens use oil-based ink, which dries quickly and is less likely to smudge. They are known for their reliability and long-lasting ink. Rollerball pens use water-based ink, providing a smoother writing experience and more vibrant colors but may take longer to dry and can smudge more easily.
